Juvenile Aid Scholarship Organization
Juvenile Aid Scholarship Organization* is a non-profit organization based in and serving the communities of Swampscott, Marblehead, Lynn, Nahant, and Salem Massachusetts. Juvenile Aid Scholarship Organization provides need-based scholarships to Jewish students in our area that are pursuing higher education.
Juvenile Aid Scholarship Organization was founded in 1932, in order to create and provide layettes for newborn babies of families in need. Over time, the organization's mission changed and evolved. Since 1937, Juvenile Aid's primary mission has been to provide scholarships to Jewish students with financial need who are pursuing higher education.
Today, we have several active members who are direct relatives of some of the original founding members of our organization.
Our main mission is to provide scholarships for secondary education to Jewish students in our area who demonstrate financial need. Please contact our Scholarship Co-Chairs, Lois Hurwitz and Laura Goodman, here for more information and for scholarship applications.
In addition to providing scholarships to needy students, many members donate new blankets to the NSMC Special Care Nursery and new children's books to both the North Shore Children's Hospital and Lynn Community Health.
